How We Work
Let's work together
Why I Chose the Name Anchor Point
A client once told me something that stopped me in my tracks:
“I don’t need someone to save me—I just need to feel safe enough to rest.”
That moment has stayed with me.
It reminded me that healing doesn’t begin with advice or solutions—it begins with safety. Feeling safe enough to stop running. To breathe. To just be.
That’s what I had in mind when I started Anchor Point Counseling Center.
What is an Anchor Point?
Picture being caught in rough water—adrift, unsure where to go. The current pulls hard. The horizon is blurry. You’re tired of treading water.
And then—finally—you spot something solid. A quiet place to pause, catch your breath, and steady yourself.
That’s what an anchor point is.
In nautical terms, it’s where you drop anchor to hold steady.
In life, it’s any moment or space that helps you feel safe enough to stop and find your bearings again.
Sometimes it’s a person. Sometimes it’s a memory, a choice, a quiet breath. Sometimes it’s a space—one that gently says:
You don’t have to do this alone.
I chose the name Anchor Point not just because it sounded good—but because it’s what so many of us are really searching for. Not a savior. Not a fix. Just a place to come back to ourselves.
The A.N.C.H.O.R. Values
These are the values I try to bring into every session, every conversation, every moment with a client:
A – Authenticity: No masks. Just real connection.
N – Nonjudgment: All parts of you are welcome—even the ones you try to hide.
C – Collaboration: I don’t tell you what to do. We walk this path together.
H – Healing: Not just symptom relief. Real, meaningful change.
O – Ownership: You set the pace. You choose the direction.
R – Respect: You are seen, heard, and honored—exactly as you are.
These aren’t just ideas on paper. They’re the foundation of Anchor Point. They’re what turn therapy into something deeper than just “treatment.”
The Story Behind the Logo
Our logo isn’t just a pretty design—it holds meaning:
The compass stands for choice. It doesn’t point you in one direction—it reminds you that you can choose.
The leaves represent quiet, steady growth. The kind that takes root—not forced, not rushed, but real.
Coming Home to Yourself
I don’t believe in fixing people. That’s not my job.
I believe in walking alongside people—as they reconnect to their strength, their voice, and their story.
Because healing isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about coming home to the person you’ve always been, underneath the pain.
You’re not starting over. You’re starting from a steadier place.
